Second Mondays is a multi-disciplinary open mic for Black people to share and enjoy incredible art. The stage welcomes comedy, poetry, singing, rapping, instrumentalists, and more!

It's what we at Gold Beams have been doing for three years.

And... it's fun AF!

A Chance Perform on the Black Joy Parade Stage 🀯!

We're partnering with the Black Joy Parade again and you know what that means... PRIZES πŸŽπŸ™ŒπŸΏπŸ˜€!!!

Three artists will win money πŸ’°.

One of those winners will receive a slot on the Black Joy Parade stage. They'll perform in front of THOUSANDS.

Venue 🏑:

  • The event will be at The New Parish in Oakland.

  • Masks are required for entry and, outside of eating or drinking, must be worn.

COVID Requirements πŸ“:

  • Vaccination card OR

  • A negative test 48 hours before event doors.

Tickets 🎟:

  • Though tickets do not gurantee entree, guests must present an RSVP at the door.

  • Guests will enter on a first come first serve basis until we reach capacity.

  • Get there ON TIME.

Artists πŸ‘©πŸΏβ€πŸŽ€πŸ§‘πŸΏβ€πŸŽ€πŸ‘¨πŸΏβ€πŸŽ€:

The Second Mondays open mic is open to Black creatives. That includes comedians, musicians, poets, actors performing monologues, dance, etc.

Event doors and open mic list open at 6 pm. Artists, when we tell you to get there on time to get on the list.. we mean it.

Artists have 5 minutes to perform on stage.

Artist must only perform one piece.

If you have instrumentals, be ready to airdrop your instrumentals to our DJ.

Be prepared to perform acapella if there are issues sending your instrumentals.

Your art must be respectful to the people in the space. To our community.

Gold Beams creates events, experiences, programming and production for Black creatives and our Black community at large.

Our goals are to support Black creatives making careers from their art and to give our people wonder-filled once in a lifetime moments.
